LITTLE TOWN ON THE PRAIRIES

Little Town on the Prairies began in 2003 in the small town of Ogema, Saskatchewan where I grew up. The buildings and belongings that make up this series are those of Ogema's past inhabitants that have been preserved by the village.  I took the images on a bitterly cold winter's day, bathing the objects in a soft light, and I wanted to capture the faded colours, the worn surfaces and the textures altered by the passage of time.  These places and objects are traces of those that have passed before us, and within them lie their stories. Polaroid 669 transfers on Arches, 11x15cm and C-Prints, 11x14in

In 2008, I self-published Little Town on the Prairies, and proceeds from its sale go directly back to the village of Ogema.
